Anti-Fascism, Anti-Racism and Free Speech |
| Published On: Saturday 5th June 2010 |
It may have come as a big surprise to many individuals who haven't read the Document of Proposals of the Front Against Censorship when they saw me on state television speaking out against Norman Lowell's right for instigating hatred. It seems that Lou Bondi who dedicated at least two programs to Norman Lowell and another program to another self-declared fascist by the name of Jean Gove, thought that the Front Against Censorship is an ultra-liberal movement which is fighting for the absolute right of free speech which would entail that anyone can say what one likes including discourse which can lead to violence.

Bummers of University Unite! You have nothing to lose but your reputation! |
| Published On: Wednesday 26th May 2010 |
In order to explain the reasons for contesting the elections for the University Student Council (KSU), Moviment Indipendenti organised a public meeting in the University Quadrangle three days before the election took place. During this meeting we stated that KSU is not transparent, mainly for not publishing detailed accounts of its finances and hence it would be difficult to confirm whether corruption and dabbling with public finances was taking place. This is not quantum physics and the concept is very simple: if you don't publish your accounts, than you might have something to hide. We didn't throw mud at random towards our adversaries because that isn't part of our code of conduct but we were and still are not afraid to analyse the activities of KSU and describe them in detail after they have chosen to come down like thunder on critical university organisations. |

Proportional Representation on Campus |
| Published On: Sunday 7th March 2010 |
The University based, social-democratic organisation, PULSE is proposing to introduce proportional representation in the electoral system of the University of Malta. Elections are held yearly for the Students Council which is currently controlled by the Student Christian-Democrats organisation. SDM have been occupying KSU for these last years, blocking any representation of other organisations. For example the coalition of different organisations called ACT, failed to elect any of its representatives in KSU despite gathering 46% of the total votes. |

| Published On: Thursday 4th February 2010 |
A few weeks ago, as the readers may have noticed, the Rector decided to ban this newspaper. I’m sure the many articles delved into this topic so I will not rave about it anymore. Instead I want to deliberate on another aspect which was not prominent in all the glorious media coverage this paper managed to conceive. I am referring to KSU’s inability to carry out their job. They failed to defend its students. |
